neue single mit zwei ausgewaehlten stuecken vom >lets talk it over< album. >fought for survival< erschien urspruenglich 1972 als limitierte 7inch und wurde von lee fields selbst aus dem kofferraum heraus verkauft. das original ist eine der rarsten scheiben von ihm und wechselte schon für 1500dollar den besitzer. die wundervolle ballade lets talk it over ist einer der bekanntesten und beliebtesten stuecke des soulsaengers.

der populaere titelsong des gleichnamigen albums wird nun als single veroeffentlicht. als exklusive b-seite gibt es eine reduzierte version, bei der lee fields neben kontrabass und gitarre von der legendaeren doo-wop gruppe the del-larks begleitet wird.

truth & soul praesentiert die instrumentalversion des letzten lee fields & the expressions albums faithful man. für die produktion waren jeff silverman und leon michels verantwortlich, die schon federführend bei aloe blaccs i need a dollar hit-single und dem album good things ihr koennen unter beweis stellten. leon michels ist auch als kopf der el michels affair und mitglied der bands bronx river parkway, menahan street band und the mighty imperials bekannt. er spielte auch auf diversen produktionen für daptone records instrumente ein.
