willie hutch wrote huge soul hits in the 60s and 70s (co-writing “i’ll be there” for the jackson 5) and released sixteen motown, whitfield and independent label solo releases between 1969 and 2002. from his period with norman whifield’s label through warner brother in 1978/79 he is best known for “easy does it”. arranged by gene page, it was previously issued only on 7” as a b-side to “come on and dance with me”, original copies now exchanging hands for large sums.

on 1970’s season for love, willie hutch presents a mellower, more sumptuous sound. original vinyl copies of this album are extremely rare – and correspondingly expensive – so we’re thrilled to present the first ever vinyl reissue. officially licensed and remastered by simon francis, it has been pressed on audiophile 180g vinyl for the first time and features the original, rarely seen artwork.

the two french friends, siler & dima , have collaborated on phonogramme imprint to present you their 2nd release « friends chip » ep. a first release almost 2 years ago on their own label, popcorn records, siler & dima , took a little break from producing. when the two of them finally got back in the studio, they were unsure exactly what would result, but both wanted a return to their background and the music they like to work together. a music based on sampling, with a melting pot of jazzy & funk soul influences, from moodymann to gil scott heron or donny hataway. the result is here, with 3 groovy tunes, with a strong jazz touch, influenced downbeat of the 90’s. this friends chip release is also the fruit of several collaborations. in « the hunters » you can easily recognize the unique and sexy voice of chez damier, a key influence of the french duo. in “memoory” ,the young & talented paul cut brought his keyboard science , and le loup, one of the main highlight of the french scene, appears on the last track, « willie hutch”. to bring his music knowledge and groove to the original. the result is a beautiful ep truly “friendship”

*i got soul - blaxploitation mood* - is the first soul music compilation from playoff records. inspired by the blaxploitation movies, the aim is to showcase tracks taken from these films, as well as other lesser known ones that could easily feature in any movie soundtrack. the 70s follow the troubled period of the civil rights movement and the struggle against segregation. the afro-american community is searching for new heroes, some they found in music and cinema. the vinyl lp comes with downloadcode included.
