astral dust is a 4 song excursion bridging the styles of derek michael and marshall applewhite. this project stems from a live recording of a set performed by michael in 2002. after being tucked away for almost 15 years, the recording was found and sent to applewhite who dissected the performance into fragments and breathed a new life into them. while some portions of this release are distinctly sludgy, the majority is a perfect amalgamation of both michaels and applewhites hard-edge, melodic borderline idm styles. the digital release will feature 2 digital only sub cuts from the sessions.

marshall applewhite x the friend - the original purveyors of sludg come together for a collaborative excursion into a sound & aesthetic birthed out of detroit’s underground. dripping in sex, bordering on a perverse combo of ghetto tech, industrial, & acid.

after a slew of solo releases and a few comps, marshall applewhite has teamed up with fellow detroit native kero to put together a 4 track collaborative effort that explores both the new sludge phenomenon and the more classic detroit techno/electro sound. within 4 songs the two have covered a wide base of musical information. comprised of 2 parts modular gear, 2 parts homemade reaktor patchwork, and 1 part raw machine funk, sewer tracks gives a good representation of each players musical aptitude.

marshall applewhite has released some stellar sounds via yosucka!, htk, and detroit underground aswell as a number of releases under the name oktored. following up on his clan destine debut on the monumental *dark acid v*, marshall applewhite presents his first solo venture on said label, *advance beyond human*.
