'Subluminal' marks the debut of Symeon Yovev (aka V0LAND) in the
experimental electronic music scene. After years of composing
soundscapes using field recordings and completing a practice-led
doctoral degree (PhD) on this very topic in March 2020, V0LAND's
creative direction, like many others, was transformed by the
global lockdown. Confined indoors, he began to experiment with a
couple of obscure analogue synthesizers he had collected over
time. This experimentation soon evolved into a cohesive body of
work, resulting in the compositions that make up 'Subluminal.'
As the lockdown persisted far beyond expectations, V0LAND moved on
to other projects, and 'Subluminal' was temporarily shelved. [info sheet from distr.]
