CARPET ALBUM (LP)
The 4th longplayer from international jazz collective Spiritczualic Enhancement Center.
Spiritczualic Enhancement Center are a “spectral trance-jazzensemble with a psychedelic-punk methodology”, as they definethemselves - an eclectic group of 15 musicians, almost acollective, from Germany, Israel, Iran, USA, Turkey, UK, Russiaand former Yugoslavia. Landing on Kryptox, with their 4th record(the others were self released) this is musical material the bandrecorded in several sessions in Romania and the Czech Republic, inside a church in Hamburg and while staying with a commune inrural Denmark over the last years. Their live shows are wild happenings and their studio sessions areimprovised rituals. Making use of traditional instruments, self-builtelectronics, synthesisers and a large rhythm section. The banddescribes the recording process as "a head-hunting tapestrywoven with the tonal colours of music“. Recorded by 15 musiciansspanning from Japan and Turkey to Moldova and Iran. Thehypnotic music the collective creates is deeply psychedelic, but notin a prog or indie way. This music is more inspired by Miles Davisor Lonnie Listen Smith in the early 1970s. After finishing and editing the album the band went to an old emptyvilla in Nice at the Côte d'Azur and later proceeded to Istria’sAdriatic coast to mix and finalise the session and create that whatis ready to be released on Kryptox.
