Anthony and Adam met in college while studying creative writing and soon invited Anthony’s younger cousin to help them out on vocal duties while they experimented with a sample-based sound. In 2008, with the release of their debut full length, their music had evolved into a fully fleshed out project, with live percussion, synths and vintage drum machines all incorporated into their signature sound. As cool as it is cozy the delicately arranged, new 9 track record is a step away from the more Portishead-esque efforts of the past: aligning itself with a moodier, funkier, Afrobeat ancestry drawn from elements of Creatures and Talking Heads. Having spent recent years touring the West Coast with the likes of Little Dragon and Dengue Fever while also releasing remixes of tracks by the likes of Gorillaz and Health, Pollyn are planning to head to our shores this summer for a string of live dates - an exciting prospect considering the trio expand to an eight piece on stage.
