Arguably all but the most dedicated fans will have long forgotten Most Significant Beat, a post industrial early 90s techno project from former Clock DVA man Maurizio Martinucci and Esplendor Geonetrico s Saverio Evangelista. This surprise vinyl compilation tells the story of their previously CD-only late 90s work, throwing in a previously unheard workout, the angular rhythms and Sheffield bleeps of Geometric State for good measure. For the most part, the material has aged remarkably well, and sits somewhere between the forthright madness of Autechre, the spacey techno of Detroit-via-Frankfurt (see Amy Tekno) and the buzzing intensity of Surgeon.
