Following their first release, which featured four brand new artists, the guys over at Disconnected are back with DSCNTD 002. This time its a full EP from Chocky, which features a remix from Brooklyns Krts. The DSCNTD releases resist the modern addiction to genre pigeon-holing, instead they focus on pushing a variety of interesting and emotive sounds. This five track EP captures the rich and varied musical inspirations of the mysterious man simply know as Chocky. First up is >Down with Idris<, a beautifully, blissed-out slice of electronica. Krts supplies a dusty, broken remix with a deep, creeping progression, these two versions really compliment each other. On the flip you will find the jazzy >Can I Mither You<, suspenseful but really groovy house music. Finishing the whole thing off is the deep as you like >Frizzy Fuzz<, lovely drums and synths, pure atmosphere. And keep an ear out for Chockys interlude/DJ tool >Ripp Off<, it pays homage to his love of sampling... 300 single pressed, hand stamped & individually numbered records.
