CD release of the recent vinyl series! Rick Wilhite and his Vibes new&rare music record store have been a main source in Detroit for over 17 years. His store is the place to go for many Detroiters looking for new soulful. electronic music. And as a DJ and promoter Rick has been holding it down for years. Next to that he mostly known for his affiliation with Three Chairs (together with Kenny Dixon Jr & Theo Parrish) and for his solo recordings. under his The Godson pseudo.
Now its time for Rick to get his peers and friends in the mix for his first compilation, aptly titled Vibes new&rare music. The compilation is spread out over four 12”s, which will be followed by a compilation CD with exclusive tracks and features only the best of Chicago and Detroit electronic music. All tracks are new and exclusive.

The CD version holds 11 tracks and features the cream of the crop of the Chicago and Detroit house scene. Both the usual suspects as well as some new cats come together on this project. All deliver their best work, curated courtesy of Rick Wilhite.
Besides house hold names like Theo Parrish, Glenn Underground, Marcellus Pittman and Rick himself (as The Godson), new names like Ricardo Miranda, Derwyn Hall and Marc King (more or less) debut on this release. Man of the moment Kyle Hall is alsofeatured with two tracks he did when he was only 15 and the is Vincent Halliburton, known for his release on Ferris Park. The bonus has to be the very special Urban Tribe line up: Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon, Shake and original tribester Sherard Ingram come together to create ‘First Mistake’. A special treat!
