what s two metres tall, plays music on four channels, lives behind the iron curtain, has 1605 reasons to run an awesome label and flies over a 100 times per year? ladies & gentlemen meet umek. the 1605 boss returns on wax with four trademark techno jams which have been lightening up festivals & dancefloors worldwide over the last six months & will continue from now until the closing parties in ibiza at the end of the summer.

its really hard to say whether umek is going back in time with his alba patera alter ego or is he exercising his futuristic self. its also hard to say if the four tracks in his newest ep collinearity will make you scream, frown or maybe even climax (multiple times). in any case, handle with care to avoid injuries

originally released on magik muzik, it is now back where it belongs, with umek. the original mix package was a trance djs delight, with mixes from tiesto, oliver lieb and dj montana but to celebrate the return, umek has taken a different route and drafted in a remixer who is in a terrifically rich vein of form right now

you know you are ready for something special when lord umek comes up with a one-tracker, and even the title on this one lets you know you are in for a manic ride. sly bass sets the tone, under the tightly-wound rhythm section and flashy stabs make way for a cheeky vocal that takes the lead role. the busy drum edits keep the adrenaline levels high at all times and yet another page is written in production history, with umeks trademarked sound.

our leader unveils yet another facet of his production arsenal, this time turning a housey cheek, courtesy of sa ensual, yet chopped-to-bits vocal. the jacking rhythm section skips along in pure style, keeping the tight bassline in check while frantic edits help i need you to fully unfold. stefano noferini nods to the old school in this double outing, and furios blasts out with a nostalgic bassline and intense beeping action over a crackling rhythm section. the title track goes for more heady territory with a hypnotizing vocal seeping in and out of the cracks, while the trademarked noferini groove keeps the bubbling subs in check. the undisputed groove don, dj pp, graces 1605 with revolver amo & navas beef things up even more with their crunchy rhythm section, and opt for a dubbier vibe with their trademarked stomping groove and spacious, low-end percussive magic. dj fronter leads us into another bouncy ride with the percussion-led cntrl and next taking the lead and rolling out into action
