sis, the alias of burak sar, returns once again to crosstown rebels. following on from releases such 2012s round pen, 2015s sombra india and last years the blindside, the german-born producer heavily influenced by his turkish roots- presents us with this tribal triple-threat. sis explains that it was sending his first ever demo tape to crosstown rebels in 2004 that initiated his relationship with the label and tells us to expect some rolling dance floor breakers. karmir nur gets the ep underway. sensual strings abound with a heady, tribal chant that lulls you into a state of hypnosis. tima rolls along, building slowly as the layers pull you in deeper still towards those familiar strings. dandini brings back the tribal chanting. the vocals are backed by mesmeric drums, perfect for an intoxicating, dance floor procession. burak sar has released a number of records on renowned imprints such as get physical music, mobilee and cocoon recordings as well as running his own successful label, cocolino records.

bringing his signature sound to crosstown rebels, delightfully unconventional producer sis delivers his third release on the label, the blind side. hot on the heels of his boabab album on mobilee, rodriguez jr. delivers a stunning remix on the b-side. the blind side is set to soundtrack the summer, an incredibly infectious track with its exotic and intricate drum workouts and alluring vocal cuts. on the flip, rodriguez jr. brings in deep pads, uplifting melodic keys and a storming piano lines for a whole new take on the original. taking his artistic enthusiasm from his turkish father, sis grew up in berlin surrounded by music. following a series of releases on nick curly’s cecille, ricardo villalobos who loved his track trompeta so much that he released it on his boutique label picked up the german producer sei es drum in 2008. his success of trompeta led to an avalanche of recognition, groove magazine and ‘newcomer of the year’ by raveline mag named him both ‘producer of the year’. in 2011 sis launched his own label cocolino where he released his debut three-part album dejame. olivier mateu aka rodriguez jr. grew up in the south of france and moved to paris as a young adult and soon formed the electro group the youngsters. signed by laurent garnier to f communications, the duo released two albums and a string of successful singles. focusing on a different alias, rodriguez jr. gave olivier the freedom to run with his creativity, which can be seen in his acclaimed live shows.

the exotic * sombra india* gets to works with slick guitar licks and a driving beat, enhanced with powerful and captivating vocals from eduardo castillo. already a firm favourite of damain lazarus and luciano, this has been getting a huge response on dance floors this summer. on the flip and the cut-up afro-house * sanura* is highly exotic driving monster of a tune, no messing around, straight to the dance floor!
german native sis shot into the limelight in 2008 with releases on cecille and ricardo villalobos label * sei es drum*, which up until that point had only showcased ricardos own productions. no stranger to the crosstown rebels catalogue, he delivered the first ever rebellion release and then later the * round pen ep* on crosstown rebels in the summer of 2012 and the more recent * slider* on rebellion. other productions have appeared on esteemed labels such as cocoon, 8bit, connaisseur, get physical, with a more recent album on cocolino.

with the track *time machine*, dj and producer michael nielebock provided us with a fantastic debut on our deep circus label. his first success came for the berlin resident with the track pure visionson the treibstoff label, which entered the charts and the record cases of many international djs. his productions all are characterized by a driving groove, mixed with spherical elements, strings and synth-sounds. with *time machine* he also managed to bring this mixture to perfection in cooperation with his studio buddy leevey, thus creating a track which will make the day and caress the ears of many outdoor dancers this summer.
the second track on the ep is a wonderful remix by burak sar aka sis, who recently released his second album *confidance* on his label cocolino. the sis remix stays close to the original track, but reduces the spherical sounds and puts a greater focus on the basses, resulting in a great piece with a lot of deepness. nice!

after the huge succes of its tenth release (davide squillace & guti), hideout is back with with the third slice of the deconstruction revisited series. this time, crocodile tears, which appeared on davide squillaces tutti frutti ep (ho003) got offered three amazing relectures. it all starts with mr robert dietz (cadenza, cecille ...), who delivers a super modern and energetic relecture, where intelligent synthetic percussions mess around with weird noises and processed effects. after two minutes a monophonic synths starts its battle with vocals from squillaces original to end up on a more minimal groove. gflame aka portugese techno start cisco ferreiras (the advent) relecture directly sets the tone: a nasty bassline with a crazy synth stab flies over a soft but very heavy techno beat, to evolve to an elegant tech house track (no bongos involved). finally sis, the man behind cocolino imprint, reinterpretation starts with a long intro with the kick dropping after more than 3 minutes. the melancholic feeling of the track builds into a very subtile beat with reverbered elements all over. the percussion layers and delicate melodic synths add some organic flavour to the music so the 14 minutes remix is never boring and takes you to a nice journey thru sounds. you can tell somebody was in love when making such a beautiful song. another must have from hideout!

supported by sis, ricardo villalobos,loco dice, robert dietz, markus fix... after kicking off with sis bubu ep(mitu001), mitus second release comes from yet another cocolino crew dj/producer. having released in the past on cecille and la pena, sercan is no newcomer to the game. his music, however, does bring something new. the title track, acuerdate, is an elegant percussive house track with a broad range of styles influencing the way it progresses. sercan smartly plays his dance floor tactics, making sure that with every new element that is added, all of your inner senses awaken… the b side kicks off with flow show, a track that james brown would work his dance moves on. the balance between funk /house / tech / groove is simply right. on the last track of the ep, sercan lays down an ongoing house vibe that will make evry single head nod. a transcendent effect elegantly kicks in, as the tracks old school feel slowly kick in and do it climaxes

supported by: ricardo villalobos, luciano, loco dice, robert dietz, kreon & lemos, markus fix, reboot, … after a great 2008, finishing with both producer of the year and track of the year awards by groove magazine, what can we expect from sis in 2009? the 1st release by mitu records holds the answer: another sis banger. taking a step into the realm of deep, sum is a elegantly produced track (reminiscent of orgsa) ideal to setup a mood while, delivered in a edgy style, typical to sis, babu will tear off the roof in any club. joining sis on this release is one of his mates from the cocolino crew, stipe, with a classy remix of sum, transforming a deep track into a dancefloor groove. keeping it in the family is the way mitu, a brand new label from frankfurt, will keep its releases flowing.. the combination of the three tracks is great, with enough edge, groove and rhtym for any music lover
