Lake Ruth, the new group formed by vocalist Allison Brice (The Eighteenth Day Of May), instrumentalist Hewson Chen (The New Lines) and drummer Matt Schulz (Holy Fuck, SAVAK, Enon) have announced the release of their debut single ‘The Inconsolable Jean-Claude / The Prisoner’s Dilemma’ on the esteemed UK label The Great Pop Supplement. Lake Ruth’s sound is rooted in 1960’s sonic experimentation, and skillfully blends elements of chamber pop, psych, kraut, jazz and electronic music. Cinematic A-side ‘The Inconsolable Jean-Claude’, an imagined portrait of French composer Jean-Claude Vannier, may appeal to fans of his work, along with those of Serge Gainsbourg and Margo Guryan. B-side ‘The Prisoner’s Dilemma’ evokes Pentangle and The Left Banke, with its baroque instrumentation and atmospheric vocals. Limited edition of 300 copies on 7 inch vinyl
