Garçons originated from Marie et les Garçons, a punk band from Lyon, France formed in the 70s by Patrick Vidal, Eric Fitoussi, Jean-Pierre Charriau and Marie. Quickly achieving cult status thanks to edgy releases, a performance at New York’s legendary CBGB and sharing stages with Patti Smith and Talking Heads, the band lost Marie at the end of the decade and morphed into Garçons, a trio pursuing mutant disco and no wave fantaisies. The rest is history: a short career celebrated in the underground, a deserved place in France’s best kept secret hall of fame, and a whole lot of timeless music.[txt from ]
