four great detroit funkin techno madness

axter and barnett, creators and founding members of four313, now have a second four313 release and this time out the dynamic duo unleashes a well-rounded, four track vinyl ep. side a has two songs produced by blake baxter with a1 being a detroit house styled tune titled “agape”, featuring blake s classic, soft-spoken word style. a2 is a party starter, big room, dance-floor filler appropriately titled “let s get it started”. side b has two tracks produced by thomas barnett with b1 aptly titled -mandela effect”, this is a detroit techno styled track with barnett s signature bassline sound. b2 is titled “magnetofunk” & has a vintage feel that uniquely transforms into a modern day, prime-time groove, a must have for djs. blake and thomas are setting their sights on touring as the dj unit -four313- in the fall of 2017 with the theme & tour name, “reconstruction”. their concept is one which supports new artists and incorporates them into future four313 releases, four313 s purpose is to come together as artists, to reconstruct their past, present, and future while building a new beginning.

four313 is a detroit group of deejays, musicians and producers from the 1st wave of the detroit techno dance movement. blake, eddie, santonio & thomas have joined forces as the unit four313, a group name with meaning and purpose, and that is to preserve detroits true history in dance music and support the dj culture through vinyl releases. the debut album of four313 will be released with the launch of their new record label called ther label. four313 will collectively release special limited edition vinyl of brand new recordings starting at the beginnning of 2017.

after the first, extremely successful >motor city days vol.1< release from 2002/04 with all those then-and-now enduring tracks by jeff mills, tronic pulse, drivetrain and st. andy, the >motor city days vol.2< follow-up comes along now as another ambitious showcase of the continous work of that other electronic music axis detroit-cologne in full effect!

we are happy to introduce a new release and a new project from ben vedren and chez damier, a new collaboration that has been in the making for some time now. side aa1 presents a unique sound in its vibe, kind of a minimal track. the french discussion/vocal in the background adds another dimension. you don t need to speak the language to understand what s going on, but you must wonder at some point: do i understand french or is it the music that made me understand them? an -organ- sound intervenes towards the end bringing power and light to the hall. it s eleven minutes of pure music! while -aa- is composed of two different remixes of a different track, -berlin nights in paris- it can probably be called the house anthem. it starts strong with some acid sound and is filled with a lot of wonderful elements. like a gourmet meal, you wonder if the track shouldn t have been at least three times longer to satisfy the gluttony of the listen. the techno remixes of the track. it s a perfect example of detroit meets house. techno track can, with no doubt, feed and drive the dance floor. no need for more than five words to describe it – it s a serious techno track.
