jeremy duffy, the man behind the join the dots label and the duff disco edits is starting a new series of originals 12 inches on his own imprint duff disco, following some richly detailed house and disco outings on the likes of tenth circle, dikso and composite. the first offering from duff disco is a two tracker featuring a little more love & you shoulda known.

whilst some people claim that the number seven is lucky, some people, like duff, dont believe in luck, or if there is such a thing as luck you make your own. you cant rely on anyone else to hold your hand you know, you gotsta forge your own path, they arent called the mean streets for nothing. duff is the sort of man who not only makes his own luck (cos who else is gonna look after you?) but he keeps an eye on his bredren too. those in the neighbourhood feel safe because all is good in duffs hood, always has been, always will be, the police dont even come there, because they don’t have to, that block is on lock-down brother. though he isnt some type of machismo, over-the-top (hat back go-on sly) caricature, its just the way it is, nuthin to argue about. he has a way about him, the glare of a pitbull and the smile of don juan, dusty is his girl yep thats her real name, the name her mamma gave her on the day she was introduced to this world. the girl is fine thats for sure but what else would you expect from the honey that rides shotgun with the sonic casanova. she might call herself lucky. duff would disagree.

blue skies and late nights, camp fires and cheap delights and whisky drained straight from the jar. in a hammock slung below a sky of dreams and sea of stars lay a pop princess and a hip hop pioneer, arms entwined and eyes locked into each others stare they whisper sweet – nothings to each other, >you re flash< he says >take it slow< she purrs back >and dont even dont think about going down under!< a mile or two out to sea, floats what has come to be known as a mega-yacht. aboard his life like an episode of mtv cribs but with more parties and less gold-encrusted pool tables. surrounded by beauties by the bevy and sipping on gin and juice, duff scans the horizon with his telescope (solid platinum, encrusted with diamonds, built in infa red) and spies young love or a new hope. smiling to himself he thinks >they look different, younger perhaps at least changed, if not for the better but changed at least which is surely a good thing<. he turns to the girls on the boat, one hand pointing to the shore and the other raising his drink to the sky he shouts >i helped create that<.

its been a while, but what can we say, you want the best? you got the best. but you gots to wait, you gots to be patient. so as winter seeps away and the frost melts we at duff disco are getting ready for these sidewalk, hot summer nights, radio bout to blow, small talk under the lights, feel the heat wild and sweet, duff disco returns with his peerless edit series clocking in at a number 5, yeah, a fist full of dollars, the five knuckle shuffle of releases. sticking to the slo and sexy formula >catch me out< and >you wish< are two sultry jams signalling that spring is approaching and all the ladies will begin removing the layers and making the days instantly seem brighter.
