Limited reissue of two disco-funk classics by 70s super-group - WAR, renowned for their masterful blending of soul, Latin, jazz, blues, reggae and rock influences. On the A side you will find the 7.30 minute promo-only disco version of Cosmic groover >Galaxy<, a wonderful technicolour star-spangled space-hop of smooth horns and hooks, blasted into the outer-funkosphere by a deeply delicious phat bassline, devastatingly groovy piano riffs and great dubbed-out vocals. On the flip, we have the mighty 13-minute Loft classic >City Country City<, a subtle blues-influenced obscurity taken from 1972 album >The World Is A Ghetto<. Riding high on a blissful sax solo and laced with hauntingly mellow strains of a harmonica, this epic tune takes you on a soulful smoky journey through a dreamy land of slo-mo jazz and disco.
