Excellent third release on the essential Supafrico Records featuring four absolutely stunning Afro flavoured grooves dug deep from the vaults. First up we have a previously unreleased extended version of >Hot Black N Sweet< by Nigerian funkster Kio Amachree. Taken from the über-rare 1981 >Ivory< LP, this a slice of pure funk filled afro boogie led by a groovy phat bline, driving horn section and Kios magnificent Kid Creole-esque vocals.
Number two comes in the form of 'Slow Down' from the hugely sought after 1981 'Grill' album by Amas. But 'Slow Down' it doesn't! With a catchy, pulsating drum intro, layers of incredible stabbing piano and damn-right groovy guitar licks, by the time the vocals come in, you're already in a state of Afro-euphoria! On the flip, we have the full 10 minute version of the ultra rare 'Sabi (Get Down)' from Ghanaian master drummer, Okyerema Asante feeding us a funk-riddled piece of undiluted afro groove pie with awesome vocals and tripped out synths Finally, if that wasn't enough, Time Will Tell is a deeply undulating Afro funk disco gem from the 7-piece who were also known as the Lafayette Rock Band. Remastered to the max, this EP is an absolute necessity!
