Jose Manuel (from Torino and black pepper records) gives us ‘Nova” a cinematic Italo-Balearic groove with a chugging bassline, lots of strings and percussion and even some flurries of flamenco guitars. Following his bestselling 12 on ISIT010, the boys have drafted in Max Essa once again, who remixes nova and produces a sublime piece of balearic nu disco in the way only he can, still holding on to the core of the original but taking to the dancefloor. On the flip, Mushrooms Project (from Parma, Italy - with releases on Bearfunk, Electric minds etc) provide the excellent Amazzone. A beautifilly epic cosmic dub jam with lots of spacey dub effects and heavy bongos and some lovely subtle melodies. Coyote admirably handle the remix, turning it into a 112bpm house groove with a suprisingly squelchy bass line that bubbles along nicely into a piano and string melody thats hits like the sun breaking through the clouds.
