With ‘The Alezby Inn’ featuring The Genevan Heathen, a cover of legendary westcoast electro don Egyptian Lover, Soul Clap worked it with spaced out futurism whilst staying true to the mischievous charm of the original. In a major coup, Egyptian Lover graces the label as guest remixer of honour, stripping the track back to its bare cowbell funk ridden flex with dubbier undertones. Hyperactive new blood Nick Monaco takes the reigns next with a deep intergalactic voyage over the Milky Way to an Alezby Inn of a parallel dimension.
Wrapping the listener in a breathy, lovers embrace, the B-side features remixes of the Mel Blatt penned ‘Ecstasy’ and the cover of Corgis classic ‘I Need Your Lovin’. Brooklyn based talent John Camp steps up first transforming ‘I Need Your Lovin’ into a sultry slow jam - shimmering, sexy and flowing over delicately broken beats. Soul Clap Records debut signing Night Plane delivers ‘Ecstasy feat. Mel Blatt (Club Mix)’ a multitextured sound bed of swirling pads and warped keys against a restrained late night groove plus a sublime digital extra ‘Miami Mix’ of ‘Ecstasy’.
