The new EP by Pusherman, Donuts, is out now on 12 inch vinyl, featuring remixes from Naive Machine & Diamond Bass! While >Donuts< is identifiably born of grime, UK funky, techno and house, Pusherman’s use of funky synthlines, deep low end and chopped up vocal samples set them a cut above their peers.
The A-side ‘Donuts’, a 4/4 dancefloor track influenced by kuduro rhythms, features an introductory vocal from ‘Godfather of Grime’ Wiley , while B-side ‘The People’ is a garage-tinged track with organic claps and off-kilter beats as suited to the bedroom as it is the dancefloor. Diamond Bass brings subtle globally inspired flavours to his remix of ‘Donuts’, while Naive Machine reworks ‘The People’ into a footwork-influenced jam that’s all static textures and emotive synthwork.
