Nick Woolfsons Teng imprint drops, Tactics, this April by German producer Mias Void, backed with a remix from The Barking Dogs. Mias Void, better known in the industry as Matthias Vogt, has been producing infectious house grooves for quite some time now, with releases for labels such as, Chicagos Large Music and Lazy Days Recordings. Here Vogt pushes into new territories under his new Mias Void guise, Matthias sees this alias as a chance to express a new, more experimental side of his productions, yet keeping the MV initials to maintain a lock between the distinctions. With releases pinned down for Polytone, Lo:Rise and Fullbarr already, this new sound will undoubtedly be as well received as his deeper explorations. Supported by: Dusky, Iron Curtis, Akra, John Osborn, Jacques Renault, Seth Troxler, Laura Jones, Radio Slave, Uzuri, Tony Rodriguez, m50, Maya Jane Coles, Alex Coulton, Flori and many many more!

The release opens with title track 'Tactics' here, a dubbed-out, ethereal Techno cut, soaked in subtle intricacies and grit. Void keeps the tempo low but energy high, as earth-shattering drums paint the bigger picture, soft, evolving pads ease in to the record, steadily blooming before the latter stages see things stripped to a raw drum and bass driven state.
'Believer' steps up next, a punchy analogue workout, driven by weighty drums, hypnotic arp-lines and sharp percussive elements. Void rides out the hooky arpeggiated groove throughout the tracks near seven-minute duration, easing in a variety of cosseting pad lines, bright synth stabs and processed organs to meander around the foundations beautifully.
To close the release Teng have enlisted the services of Gomma artists, The Barking Dogs on remix duties. The Italian duo reshape 'Tactics' into a skippy, broken-beat interpretation with their dusty analogue production style. The mix is tastefully contrasting to the original and adds a further appeal to an already phenomenal release. The mix has a live feel throughout as the dynamics consistently falter and elements creep in and out sporadically. As expected from the fledgling Teng imprint, this is yet another intelligent electronic music release.
