Following excellent releases from Skatebard, Les Crocodiles and Lunar Concept amongst many others, Pleasure Unit turn to Cut The Rug crew member Mike Misiu for their latest instalment of cool-headed modern disco. Do What You Need sports a Metro Area demeanour, with a classic vocal hook sprinkled in at opportune moments for maximum impact. The dub mix is no less satisfying, even with the famous sample rubbed out, but in fact the real pleasant surprise of this release is B2 jam Love Talk. With its funky midtempo 90s breakbeat and heavy-hitting piano, it s an addictive party starter that harks back to the acid jazz days while still fitting right into the here and now.
