NY/NJ house producer Jihad Muhammad, whos previously had releases on West End Records, Easy Street and Iwanai out of Canada, bestows us with a very special 3 song instrumental EP, 2 of which can be found on this October 2007 sampler. The Piano Mix of Ascension is a gorgeous 124.5 BPM affair with plenty of plucky strings, a deep but not heavy Balearic kick & bass drum, bouncy bassline, intermittent synth, & distinctive jazzy piano riffs that ll get the head nodding and hips swaying. Expansions is another lovely instrumental but with more of an Afro cuban percussive production whle keeping all of the dreamy piano chords and riffs intact and alive.
