Escape From New York >Singles Collection< contains the groups full discography. The group comprising of British record producers John Falleti, Mike Whitford, Nigel Swanston & Tim Cox (who also recorded as Airstrip-One) penned these two gems in the early 80s at a time when Italo Disco & New Wave were the flavour of the day. >Fire In My Heart< needs little introduction, an incredible slow-mo balearic masterpiece with rapturous vocals. Now worth a pretty penny this originally was released on UK Rollerball Records in 1984.
It featured the full vocal version, the electro-pop / new wave track “Won’t Be Your Fool” and an intrumental of “Fire In My Heart” - all available here. On the flip the groups first single “Save Our Love” was released on seminal hip hop label Profile (fellow label artists included Rob Base and Run DMC) in 1983, and while not as recognisable as “Fire In My Heart” it certainly has its charms with its sullen vocals under pinned with intricate early 80’s electronic synth melodies. Also features “Slow Beat” which is an mid tempo gem waiting to be discovered, alongside the instrumental of “Save Our Love".
