After recent success stories on OFF Recordings, Play it Down and our SVT100 compilation, Marlon Hoffstadt teams up with vocalist HRRSN for a first EP on Stil vor Talent, ‘Skin And Bone’. Together, they present a musical, soulful style of deep house that mixes classic song writing with dancefloor sweat. The stunning title track opens the A-side with melancholic piano keys and a subtle beat over which HRRSN’s memorable voice literally explodes. Beautifully understated and highly addictive! Following ‘Once Again’, with which many will be familiar from our recent compilation, ‘I’m Losing You’ then ups the tempo. Here, an elastic bass-line and elevating synth pads nestle around HRRSN’s R’n'B vox. On the B-side, Oliver Koletzki and Diynamic’s H.O.S.H. find themselves on remix duties. While Koletzki beefs up ‘Once Again’, H.O.S.H. takes things into a darker direction on his mesmerising reinterpretation of ‘Skin And Bone’. Lastly, Marlon Hoffstadt & HRRSN collaborate with rapper Focus The Truth. The result? An old-school hip-hop track that makes for a surprising finish to an incredibly convincing EP.
