nearly 10 years on from it’s last release, phantom audio relaunches on march 11th 2013¬†and what better way to start than to go back to the very beginning! ¬†originally released on dec 6th 1999, phantom force went on to become one of the legendary dnb anthems, still being heard in sets today. fracture tears it apart and takes it right into 2013 with a mammoth half-stepping groove, led by those familiar pounding stabs, nervous strings and teasing break edits. digital & spirit go to work on backlash themselves, harking back to an era where the beats where dirty and the mood was heavy for a trademark slice of sub-heavy organised breakbeat chaos.

revolution recordings return for the new year with two brand new tracks from ukrainian producers sunchase and nickbee. first up on the release is the epic ‘life simulator’. ghostly atmospherics and resonating sitars alongside some tribal percussion establishes the tone. when this one drops, it drops hard. deep, low end sub bass combined with twisted, raw sounding leads are the key characteristics here, optimized for a unique journey into the deeper side of drum and bass.next up we have ‘full hd’ with its dreamy laidback introduction and spine tingling vocals all build to a crescendo of hard hitting kicks, snares and warped bass lines. it is clear to see sunchase and nickbee are not only extremely gifted producers but both are at the cutting edge of modern day electronic music. seriously head nodding stuff! a must for anyone who likes their d&b that little bit deeper.

next stop for revolution features another new recruit to our ever growing army, hybris. after his huge ep for noisias label vision and releases on critical and blackout, this producer is rapidly rising up the dnb ranks. >pyramids< sees hybris teaming up with revolution stalwart nocturnal to deliver a moody classic brimming with bubbling basslines and razor sharp beats. some serious technological wizadry going on here! >lair< takes a crisp electro-tinged beat and a perpetuating bassline and merges them together to create a deep roller with plenty of atmosphere. definitely one to get those dancefloors rumbling!

operation index kicks off the ep in fine style, with crisp, steppin breaks and a subtle b line that creeps under your skin. following this, silent witness steps up with take it back a chunky piece of jungle music that showcases what revolution is all about. now a regular feature on the label, steve survival takes the stage to deliver an epic slice of atmospheric dancefloor business with vintage. the final track eyewitness winds up the ep in fine style with a minimal, glitchy, techno influenced journey into the deep.
