4 years can feel like a really long time – -long time no see- was achim maerz frst wake up! ep back in 2013, -it s been a while- is his frst track on metal and machines and it s good to see that some things don t change. it s a true achim maerz track – focused on longing melodies, warmly distorted harmonies based on deep house foundations. -listening to machines- features a kickdrum like a steam hammer in factory hall. for the right mind, even a factory can be an inspiring place. benjamin brunn s -iron copper gold- follows his manner of creating timeless and eternal soundscapes. it is less playful and takes the tension to higher grounds. just like metal, it s cold being touched and it doesn t take long until it reaches body temperature. the fourth track express mode- was released on benjamin brunns drop lp in 2015. achim maerz remix sounds like a screwed-down uptempo house track – slow and heavy, but benjamin brunn s quirkiness is undeniably there.
the first ep from abdulla rashim on his northern electronics in almost three years is leaning towards a new territory for him. taking his explorative rhythms into a more old school tradition bears a fruitful combination, as of water and the spirit transforms and a high pitched drilling groove takes the tracks in control. signalists flavour!

cologne duo andhim look to kick off 2012 in the same blistering fashion as they did last year, with an exclusivenew ep for terminal m. the duos like a wirsing was the catalyst for a successful twelve months and a run of releases and remixes that lead to andhim on the way to the top of the tech-house peak. andhims unique and innovative brand of tech house has already won the duo a strong following. today they return to terminal m for the first time since their july remix of monika kruses latin lovers and present yet another devilishly addictive three track selection. lead cut alteregon rolls with the bass, delivering a lolling groove that is boosted by guys fantastic use of vocal riffs. walkmen drops the pace and enhances the grooves yet further. guitar licks, twisted vocal and weighty bassline gel together to create some low-down sleazy funk. final cut wallace finds the boys absorbing and recreating classic-rock bass and piano melodies in wonderfully warm and uplifting fashion.
a couple of years into honing their skills in the studio and behind the booths, the very dynamic duo known as andhim returns to get physical to present us with ‘spayce, the latest specimen of their self-christened super house genre. raised on a steady diet of hip hop and jazz, the cologne-native pair have proven to many far and wide that they are entertainers at heart and envelope-pushers by nature. taking turntables where they seldom go to turn them into instruments, as well as the heavy use of samples and real-world inspiration to set their own creations apart, its fair to say that ‘spayce is just another example of the duos eclectic, eccentric inclinations. two tracks long and spanning from dance floor epic to quirky by way of some particular glitch, piano work and musical hiccups, ‘spayce ep is a very sweet addition to an already original discography.
having bought us a plethora of techno bombs of late, monika kruses terminal m, for their next release, go house. tech-house to be more precise, and delivered by a duo that are fast on the rise. from the party-starting opener of >like a wirsing<, we are swept up in a wave of >bass<. the opener has certainly been touched by some >san fran< sunshine, and with its simple percussion and warm vocal delivers a perfect hip-swinging start to the ep. >extragold< with its low-slung, lazy march, is just as infectious. hammond and accordion stabs purposefully and expertly violate the bassline, and together with the sultry vocal, which at times brilliantly cascades away, help create a gold plated dancefloor smash. hanne & lore take on >like a wirsing<, and build on the originals groove, whilst adding a heightened electronic bassline and bringing an array of new and traditional sounds to the fore.
nice price deal !!! the very first release of the new >somos< imprint curated by alejandro mosso. a label intended to enlarge the family and serve as a platform for related artists who share similar aesthetics. expanding the mosso label manifesto into a larger community. ! joachim holm, a young talented and skilled producer from trondheim (norway), wrote some unique and mesmerising wooden melodies which became the foundations of these two songs. alejandro added some extra production and a beautiful record came to life. ! tre rytme, the rhythmic version, focuses on the main melodic motif while adding an intense and pulsating beat. morphing slowly but firmly into a club burner. a spring optimistic piece ready to add a spark of life into any dancefloor. ! tre melodi is the soft and mellow version. a 12 minutes ride of polyrythmic, repetitive and hypnotic riffs, recalling american classic minimalism in an innocent and playful manner. take the time to listen until the end, it promises to be a comforting experience.

german dj duo andhim brought us the wizard of us last year, making their ebut on get physical music with the 2 track ep. while the title track was a small hit in its own right, it was the b-side, hausch that stole the stage with its sunny vibes and feel-good atmosphere. now the boys have given the track to fellow cologne artist duererstuben, denmarks koelsch and american legend george morel for a highly anticipated remix treatment.

>always like this< is the third single from the album >hvob<. hvobs cover of the track by british indie rock band bombay bicycle club mixes warm synth pads with soft beats, while anna muellers distinctive voice puts an entirely new spin on the melancholy of the original. oliver koletzki and andhim have both made remixes of hvobs interpretation of >always like this<.

the guys from audision are back with their next release in coloured vinyl! they produced chimes 1 for their live-set and it was much appreciated by the crowd. their new syntie roland jd 800 sounded crystal clear in their studio, but when they practiced for their live set in frankurt last year, all of a sudden it played a different sound … this was a magic moment which had to be recorded at once. the typcial audision device is: let the machines do the talking. and that is the also the story of chimes 2 *away* was the beatless track from their last years release up & away. so no one else but gez varley aka g-man created a dancefloor monster out of it. where can we start, when we talk about such a genius like gez varley. he was co-founder of the legendary lfo (warp records) duo. he wrote music history with his partner mark bell. under his solo project g-man, he released on labels like wir, i220, force inc or swim. *quo vadis* is still one of the most important all-time favourite techno tracks. last but not least a typical rough and deep house mix came out of christopher raus machines. the smallville member released on labels like, pampa, derive, aim, mule… and delivered a great track for this wonderful release. all in all - a must have!
his album debut - timez are weird these days was one the most exciting releases of 2011, shortly after, the trinidad born us rapper and producer appeared on the biggest music- and lifestyle magazines including spin, the nme, rolling stone, billboard, vogue, maxim, village voice, gq

12" Vinyl D12.03.12
the second format b album is booked as a big success. as a consequence the big round of remixes has been called out to which the friends from the house of formatik have been invited to. sébastien léger attacks >atomizer< with a cumulative bang like a horde of sedulous ants which are anxious to nibble on the already major sound-board to the total peak-time inferno. big-time! the intro track not only is being picked up by andhim who made out of the chill-out peace a capital dance-floor floater, also super flu casted the spherical peace for their remix. but not only the melody of >desire< has found application in their >two for one price< remix, the vocals from >liquid< as well nuzzle into the complex produced remix arrangement of the two >hallenser< to endow the hole ep the pop-crown.

the a-side of the second release of the versus-series is from andresandreas. a project from two spanish guys called andres gomez + andreas lundman. these dj s and producers belong to the mythic raver collective laeskuadronsonora from barcelona. after many years deejeing, producing and organizing parties, the collective founded kny rec and ost rec, actually with two references out on kny and three on the ost label, but with lot of good material to come. the second release was chosen as official anthem for the monegros desert festival 12 for the advertisements on tv and radio. their track >707< (name based on playtime and the legendary roland drummachine) really fits to the hardfloor sound: acid bass lines, constantly up building, and with a hard and pumping kick, hypnotizing, but floor filling. the new old school sound, updated as never before. it sounds like a new classic
