12" Vinyl D
The sophomore album from Tusks on One Little Indian.
"Avalanche" follows Tusks' debut album "Dissolve" which saw cathartic anthems like 'Last' and 'Toronto' draw comparisons to Explosions In The Sky, Sigur Ros, Daughter and Cinematic Orchestra, championed by BBC 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and Annie Mac, MixMag,DIY, LOBF, MOJO, 405, Wonderland and more.
Tusks (Emily Underhill), is a seasoned architect of cinematic and reflective music. Her returning album is both brooding and atmospheric, radiating with fuzzy bass and Underhill's signature dreamy vocals. Borne from electronic beginnings, her new material encompasses a greater wealth of influences, àahead of the curve as it arrives yet at its core emanating the familiarity of a Tusks record. "I got really into My Bloody Valentine, Foals, Marika Hackman, Wolf Alice and a lot of female-ledgrungy guitar music* she says. Her inspirations for Avalanche weren't solely musical, though: the sweeping mountainous landscape of Iceland played a big part in the album's evolution, with photos taken by Emily from a trip there forming the LP artwork.
