In early 2017, the young Australians from Parcels may have only released a couple of tracks and yet they are already being compared to »humanized Daft Punk who would decide to jam along with Steely Dan and Frank Ocean.« The self-produced Hideout EP was created over two years. What remains in early 2017 is a unified piece, an EP that is essentially pop but which shines in a unique, exciting and down right groovy light. As a first completed release from Parcels, the Hideout EP covers a lot of ground. Tracks range from driving electro thumps to softer pop taps. But what is clear in the end is that Parcels bring a unique brand of pop music and deliver it with infectious and emotive dance: »Already the musicians have made a statement with their harmonious feel-good funk-pop.« (The 405)
