Here on Tricks On Wax we find Ben in full on party mode, the lead track being a stomping Chicago-inspired cut taking a classic formula but cranking the heat up until it’s sweat-dripping-off-the-walls time. For those with an aversion to saxophone in house music, get your listening gear round this lot and tell us this doesn’t put a smile on your face. Flip over for Seven Sisters, a brilliant synth-heavy tribute to the early days of NYC house when the likes of Pal Joey, Jovonn and the Burrell Brothers ruled the dancefloors. Finally we have Special For You, which sees Ben drop the BPM’s for a mid- tempo freestyle jam, heavy on the samples but still managing to inject the track with his own sound and coming up trumps in the process
