Andras is a beat-smith, writer, designer, photographer, audiophile; collector of Vinyl, VHS, film and other cheap discarded bric-a-brac. Bohemian? Perhaps. Talented? Absolutely.

Armed with his MPC and Juno60 as well as a wealth of vinyl akin to the most seasoned crate-diggers wet dream – Andras makes deep, dusty beatdown jams. And he does it with style and grace. Your average producer these days is holed up in a back-bedroom or cellar with a Macbook, Ableton and a pair of KRKs. Not Mr Fox – watching the guy at work is nearly as enjoyable as listening to his tracks (check his Vimeo stream to see exactly what we mean).

Andras cites his influences as Moodymann, Sun Ra, Gil Scott Heron, Onra, Moondog, Dorothy Ashby, Flying Lotus, Bullion, Madlib, Theo Parrish and Sylvester to name a few. The great thing about Fox’s tracks is that while he’s heavily influenced by his peers and his music is predominantly sample based, in creating them he’s created brand new compositions brimming with soul and vitality.

His first EP for Audio Parallax contains four of these gems. The title track ‘Your Life’ is his utopian vision of a house track – we will eat our proverbial hats if this jam doesn’t make you smile. Filled with lush chords, birdsong and sunshine, ‘Your Life’ is the embodiment of Summer.
