For Signal Life #03, we teamed up two young vigorous South Londoners: Mr. Louis Carnell, known by his moniker Visionist, and Mr. Marco Giuliani, who works under the alias Last Japan. >Control This< by Visionist combines his background in South London grime with his signature drum machine template and lo-fi vocal excerpts into a coherent mesh. Our favourite Visionist track to date! When we first heard >Storm Trooper< by Last Japan, it was the tension we got caught up in. The song is focused with a clear direction, uncommon in most young talent, armed with a driving snare-fill rhythm reminiscent of south rap and all that exiting stuff in the 160 bpm. I believe murky is the correct term. We predict interesting things for Mr. Giuliani.
