Fancy is back... Get ready to the second round!Conquer the worlds ! This was Fancy’ shameless ambition when their first album ‘Kings Of The Worlds’ came out. They were fortunate enough to share the stage with some of the biggest groups on the planet: the Rolling Stones @ Isle of Wight, Daft Punk in Ireland, The Police in Spain).

Formed in Montreuil on the outskirt of Paris, the original trio of Rae Mone (bass), Mom (guitar) and Jessie Chaton (vocal & keys) was born out of the idea to mix their various influences of metal, disco, soul and rock into one ‘cocktail idéal’ and eventually push the limits of each genres.

On stage, with the drummer Antoine Goussard, their supercharged glamourous show quickly began to make some noise and it seems like the word fancy was invented to describe them. Pretty soon they’ll open for The Rapture, Peaches, TV on the Radio, The Bellrays, the mythical MC5, to name just a few. French rock mag Les Inrockuptibles starts their 2004 ‘CQFD’ comp (best unsigned groups you must discover) with their song ‘Seventeen’; Sean McLusky includes ‘King of the World’ in his ‘Nouveau Rock n’ Roll Français’ project on Sonic Mook/V2; Gonzales is first to remix their classic ‘What’s your Name Again’.

In 2006, French label Disque Primeur issue their First (dble) single, Busy P. (aka Pedro Winter, DJ/founder of the Ed Bangers label/ex-manager of Daft Punk) revisits their song ‘What’s Your Name again’ adding a good dose of daft to it, while young DJ Drixxxé goes funky with his own treatment of ‘Inside of You’. That same year Jessie Chaton co-write the single ‘Bitch’ for the band Rinôçérôse who in turn invite him as guest vocalist on their World tour.

Their first album, humbly titled ‘Kings of the Worlds’, is released in september 2007 on the French/Canadian Exclaim label. Earlier that year, Chaton had started writing with JUSTICE on what would become their first mega hit D.A.N.C.E. Soon FANCY is embarked on a UK/US tour in support of JUSTICE.

‘Kings of the Worlds’ is released in Japan where they’re invited to play the Fuji Rock fest there. Soon after, they are elected best group at Fuji Rock 2008 by Japanese internauts on the MICI site (sort of equivalent to MySpace).

Jean Baptiste Mondino loves them and shoot them for ELLE and Jalouse mags in France. They open for the reunited legendary POLICE in Bilbao (Spain) at the BBK festival in front of 25 000 people, giving one of their best concert ever.

October 2008 see the re-release on the re-named Archambault label (ex Exclaim) of ‘Kings of the Worlds’ with a new mix by engineer Krish Sharma (Stones, Poison) and extra bonuses including their own version of D.A.N.C.E. and Gonzales mix of ‘What’s your name again’.

For the last two years Chaton has also been playing bass with Hervé Salters a/k/a General Elektriks. Now they are back and more than ever determined to fulfill their prophecy. “No doubt that these guys have that ‘je ne sais quoi’ to put French rock on the world chessboard. “ (French mag Les Inrockuptibles)
