While >Heat< and >Rogue< dispense with homage and go for the jugular with darkside intensity, the remixes hand chosen by Remain and Caro open things up, revealing undiscovered dimensions to the music. Holmar Filipsson from Thugfucker (Life & Death Records) teams up with Neurotic Drum Bands Ulysses to transform >Heat< into a mid-tempo disco chugger heavy on the drums and boogie bass. Populette unleash a late night dancefloor bomb complete with hypnotic arpeggios for their corking refix of >Rogue<.
Remain & Mlle Caro are two of the best and brightest emerging talents in the fertile Parisian scene that has given us Ivan Smagghe, Chloe, Jennifer Cardini, and so many more. The sound is dark, and moody but this is party music nonetheless, fine tuned for peak time devastation and road tested at seminal venues like The Rex Club. Remain is one half of the team behind Meant Records (alongside his partner-in-crime Siskid). Mlle Caro is best known for the two LPs she released with Franck Garcia on Ben Watts Buzzin Fly. Together, these two upstarts fortify one another, creating something that is greater than the sum of their individual contributions.
