With vocal and consistent support from Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, and Levon Vincent, among many others, Furesshu finds himself in the company of technos best and brightest - where his uniquely staggered and lurching brand of techno belongs, blurring and obscuring the lines of geography and scene. Downstate is a hypnotic slice of big room techno thats bound to solidifyl this mans vision. On side B Brendon Moeller remixes under his echologist guise and adds a funked-out twisted acidic psychedelia to the affair.

Though he originally hails from Brighton, UK, Luke Standing spent his formative musical years in the English dub(step) haven Bristol, and its safe to say that the citys endlessly flowing creativity left quite a mark on the young producer. Running the dubstep-focused Seasonfive parties at The Tube with William Aspden -- now responsible for the critically acclaimed Orca Recordings label -- the forward-thinking club nights reflected Standings diverse tastes and as well as an expert ear for functional but experimental dance music. The nights fostered a return to DJing for Standing and eventually wildly successful forays into production under the alias Furesshu, dark and meditative bass music informed by the techno-influenced side of Seasonfive. After the Tube closed in 2009, Standing was left to focus completely on his own productions, which quickly mutated into a blackened strain of banging techno influenced equally by the Berghain sound of Berlin, the dingy warehouse parties of English techno past, and a bass-heavy centre of gravity that firmly pins its origins in Bristol. Following well-received releases on Echodub, Immerse Records, and Project Squared, by 2010 Furesshu found himself at the head of a forceful techno and house revival in the UKs dub mecca, one of the most visible of a legion of producers both familiar and novel promoting the new-old sound, likeminded names from Asusu, Kowton, October, Appleblim, and more. The most creative souls are always the most restless, and despite the still-resonating waves he made in Bristol, Standing found it necessary to move on and relocated to house hotspot Hamburg in early 2011. The move is well-timed as Furesshu's music leans closer and closer on its Teutonic influences and particularly house-oriented sounds (see the stilted shake of "All I Want" on Project Squared), but all the same Furesshu is far from an imitator or scene outsider.
