Open the curtain for the next trick from the Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra: For the last year the team have been busy refuting the notion that the DJ is a One-Man-Band in the booth… Tom Clark, Todd Bodine, Philip Bader, Dale and Daniel Dreier are an act that combines all their many and varied qualities into one pot, stirring vigorously and serving up a hearty dish that goes straight to the hips! They have proven many times with their live performance that the musical ingredients are just right – and have also put the evidence on the record with an original EP. Now comes the follow up. The first track Way Too Far, is a Live recording which evokes an atmosphere of urban beats and pulsating flashes just behind the eyes and a dancing crowd who appear to sink deep into the dance floor. Then theres a complete chance of scene for the second track The Other Night, that appears to hijack the veranda of a villa in the American South. Crisp rhythms are backed by muffled thumping beats, a trumpet laments, a sexy sleep-talking emerges in gentle piano sounds.
