we hope you like this ep as much as we do, resolute label resolute label s tenth release, the nest ep , features the head honcho himself, elon. written and produced entirely in nest s brooklyn based studio, this ep is a collaborative project that showcases vintage gear such as the tr-808, 909, prophet 6, tb-303 and sh-101 to name a few. the ep kicks off with the title track, a stripped back number featuring arpeggiated synths, warm pads and 303 stabs, co-produced by bulgarian live maestro, kink, an industry vet who needs no introduction. on a2, elon teams up with the machine obsessed italian, mass_prod, for fractious , a techno number with swirling synths and reverberated vocal stabs that echo throughout. on the flipside, elon collaborates with techno don alexi delano aka adny to produce flirtface , a groovy 303 bassline track with resonant synth licks that keeps the mood rolling. the b2 vinyl exclusive track, meander , features a second collaboration with kink. offered as a digital exclusive and co-produced by david scuba, last call features a modulated bassline and intricate drum programming that effortlessly rolls along.

dapayk always delivers. with over the top and orwo the mos ferry label boss polished the prettiest grapes taken from his current liveset. he comes up with four version, each of them with a special focus on the vinyl.

mr. statik is back on mos ferry with his new ep roll down the shutters. and he got massive support from sasha perera (jahcoozi). she performed the laid-back vocals on this release. remixes by dapayk and daze maxim complete the package - but enough with the name dropping. the original track shows influences in dub, but with an elegant touch.

darlyns second appearance on mos ferry meanders between techno, house and a little bit of funk. the morning after is a minimalistic techno weapon, straight forward with no frills. with stag party the frenchman switches to a bouncing house groove, that feels powerful and self-confident.and finally, my command creates a warm and deep mood, just perfect for the morning hours and you never go wrong with a funky guitar lick.

electric arguments is the first fireman album in 10 years, and this song based album couldnt be more different than its predecessors. for those who dont know by now, the fireman is a collaborative project between music icon paul mccartney and revered producer youth. the pair first worked together in the 90s when they made two ambient dance albums. originally the firemans identity was anonymous and was eventually revealed by the press as being paul and youth. in september it was announced that the fireman would this year release their first brand new material in a decade and this time there was a big difference - the duo had found their voice. speculation began, one studio insider was reported as saying the new songs sounds like arcade fire meets led zeppelin. certainly so far, anyone who has already heard the album has commented on just how accessible electric arguments is, compared to the first two fireman albums. this album is an eclectic and diverse collection of songs that show paul is still interested in pure musical possibilities. each track was written and recorded in the space of one day. the fireman went into the studio with no plan or clear direction of how they wanted the album to sound. the project took a life of its own and the results will surprise anyone expecting to hear the previous sound of the band.

with the release of their last album “smoke” (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single “sink this ship” underlines their decision to follow this path in the future … maybe even with their upcoming album “harbour” later this year. on “sink this ship” eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva’s vocal part and dapayk’s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.
