in its original form waiting for you to call secured radio plays on 6 music, radio 1, jazz fm and various regional specialist shows, plus the track got playlisted on rinse fm. these remixes will appeal more to club djs and will fit in with house and nu-disco sets from a broad section of djs. its been a while since any artist has secured a remix from derrick carter and the hmd boys are thrilled that the world famous chicago dj has honoured them with a remix of their debut single - and he certainly doesnt disappoint. dc is on top form here with his epic mid-tempo house interpretation that keeps the soul of the original track whilst giving it some extra dance floor dynamism. with nods to classic 90s remixes from frankie knuckles and david morales this is one for the connoisseurs and ravers alike. the hmd boys with the help of luke solomon create a dubbed out and more pacy version of the original on the flip side with their remix and they report that its been going down a storm in their sets from output in new york to recent gigs in glasgow, berlin and manchester. with a brand new track featuring the vocals of amy douglas set for february and a radio 1 essential mix to be aired on december 23rd, the hmd sound is going from a steady canter to a gallop.

here s something to stir the loins of any discerning disco dj: a studio hook-up between veteran producer felix dickinson (fresh from his much-loved outing on futureboogie recordings), horse meat disco and one-time dfa man (and renowned multi-instrumentalist) marcus marr. there s an additional contributor, too: a mystery (presumably big-name) vocalist whose talk-box heavy delivery sits somewhere between prince, george clinton and pharrell. the track itself is something of a summer anthem in the making - an immaculately produced p-funk jam with the additional benefit of a shuffling, house-friendly groove. no details on how many copies have been pressed, either way, you d be well advised to snap up a copy while you still can.

after the success of their first 12inch release the horse meat disco boys have whipped up 3 more cute little edits that after months of plugging have now been proven to send dance floors both home and away into a tizzy. for a ride is a bit of a horse meat disco anthem in the shape of lucky by donna summer and its been tweaked to extend all the glorious bits that made it one of the unsung triumphs of the bad girl album. next up is a reworking of karen silvers sam and dave cover of hold on, which gets twisted into a mid tempo disco rock out, whilst finally an obscure outro on boney ms bonoonoonoos album gets flipped into a track in its own right. with its distinctive record sleeve and good quality vinyl the latest in the horse meat disco edit series aims to wet the record buying pallet before their first compilation is released this summer.
