roduced by roman flügel and jörn elling wuttke / published by copyright control mastered by dubplates and mastering, recut by stefan betke at scape mastering berlin alter ego recordings is very pleased, to rerelease this acid jesus classic, which is sounding just as fresh as it sounded, when it was released on klang elektronik back in 1997. the record was out of print since over 15 years and the tracks were not availlable on any digital platform. based on a very light, but striking ground construction, roman flügel and jörn elling wuttke leading their listeners over delicate fm-synthesis-sounds, minimal clonky bass patterns and snappy percussions to a long intermission breakdown, which reminds us of a starting boeing 747. where “interstate” plays like an inspired peakhour-jam should, “turkey skank” and “hibernation drive-, on the b-side, take on cooler tones for a headier machine-funk ride. the record was played out by dj’s like andrew weatherall, matthew herbert, luke slater, baby ford, dj hell, ellen allien, sven väth, ricardo villalobos, michael mayer etc.

who would have thought that gerd janson and phillipp lauer, aka the tuff city kids, delivering a rocker mix for alter ego, wich is not only one of their best up to this date remixwork, but also probably one of the biggest electro-summerhits in 2016. the tuff city kids production work is quite similary eclectic like in roman flügel and jörn elling wuttkes original version.

alter ego have brought the rukus with this release and is pretty much standard for these london based producers. this has sold really well on promo so dont miss out on this one.

2cd digipack + booklet - includes 21 classic tracks + 2 previously unreleased titles. review on acid jesus, the first of many collaborations between roman flźgel and jšrn elling wuttke. including 2 unreleased tracks! situated in germanyÕs then blistering techno scene and especially a mirror of frankfurt at the time (and it s holy label trinity of playhouse, klang and ongaku), flashbacks are also a feedback loop to what was happening in the uk and the usa. flźgel and wuttke succeeded with their own and unique take on it, that owned as much to underground resistance and the belleville three as it did to sven vŠth and andrew weatherall.
