on the occasion of the third release, we re glad to welcome french dj and music producer dan ghenacia, head behind godeep (his new solo project) and one-third of apollonia, as well as live performer and music producer argenis brito, resident at club der visonäre for over 8 years now and where he hosts his boom n bust party. whereas dan ghenacia proposes an indisputably more grooving and dancefloor-driven version of david k s aquatic machine dream (ts07) that came out at the end of 2016, argenis brito — for his part — delivers a rather dubby and minimalistic interpretation of david k s daydreaming ailleurs (ts10) which was the first track that be released on tone series.

alma negra are back on heist! after their much applauded 2017 release with that great soulphiction remix, theyve been rather busy taking over the scene. they started their new label alma negra records where they released 3 eps in quick succession, with new as well as older material that showcases their tropical roots and keen ear for clubby reworks. they launched their live show, doing gigs across europe with a highlight at one of londons more intimate live venues: the jazz cafe. their latest outing making their release count a total of 4 in only 8 months was on marcel vogel’s lumberjacks in hell and explored the more live / rework side of their project. now theyre back on heist with 3 new tracks, supported by an awanto 3 remix. conversation is a track we wanted to put out on heist badly, simply because it’s a beast of a track. it sits somewhere between a live african drum track, percussive techno and moody midwest electronics, with pads and strings coming in and out of play while a relentless kick drum keeps the energy on a haunting level. this track is alma negra at their filthiest, and it feels like they’ve taken a next step from last years dark and heavy luanda dub, bringing it from an intimate dreamy stage straight into the main room. this is the place shows a different side of the house spectrum with the alma’s love for dreamy deep house. the track flows up and down, with soothing rhodes chords, arpeggios and mumbling vocals setting a summery mood thats perfect for your warm up or daytime party. meanwhile, their third original track from the heart goes even deeper and navigates around a smart vocal loop topped with strings, bleeps, claps and rimshots that just keeps going.

dynamic dj and producer kölsch is set to release hal, his brand-new collaborative effort with canadian techno heavyweight tiga, on new label ipso. well known for his genre-defining cuts, danish producer kölsch has sold millions of records all over the world under his many different monikers, including seminal lp ‘1977’ and his widely acclaimed albums ‘1983’ & ‘1983’ & ‘1989’, with the latter including kölschs biggest track ‘grey’. a purveyor of deep and minimalist techno, tiga released his 3-track ‘stay cool’ ep earlier this year, with the game changing producer receiving a wealth of support from bbc radio 1 tastemaker pete tong on his last album, the 11-track ‘no fantasy required’ on counter records. made up of thunderous a-side ‘hal’ and a double b-side - containing the cosmic chord patterns of ‘first blood’ and the sinister build of grumbling ‘still so high’ - kölsch and tiga will also perform together b2b at offsonar this summer, with kölsch also scheduled to play a primetime headline set at belgian mega-festival, tomorrowland. “about a year ago i launched my label ipso”, said kölsch. “this summer ipso 002 is coming up, and it s a collab with none other than tiga. we spent a couple of great days in my copenhagen studio, and came up with 3 tracks i m really proud of. since the first release, i also started my ipso night in the legendary gewölbe club in cologne. i’ve had amazing nights there over the last 2 years and now it s time to expand.” having started his ipso residency in cologne, playing a mammoth 9 hour sets, kölsch has since expanded the brand to miami and watergate berlin, with further destinations in the pipeline. labelled as ‘the king of house” by annie mac, who added that kölsch, the ipso boss has garnered a reputation as one of dance music’s most talented producers, playing several ibiza dates over the summer, including ants, hi&#776,,,,,, ibiza’s ‘in the dark’ and circoloco. follow kompakt

joanne formans cave vaults of the moon created in 1987 for an exhibit of sculptures in taos, new mexico is a mesmerizing score for voice, ensoniq mirage, juno 106, flute, guitar and effects. the playful extra-terrestrial recording wafted through the exhibit every day for its duration and then lay dormant for nearly 30 years. unearthed now, cave vaults of the moon sounds prescient and timeless, as if pep llopis and iasos scored a wicker man remake set on mars. restored, remastered and cut using dmm.

body music, mind music, ass-shaking and head-boggling, clay wilsons third release on the bunker new york is a dance ep that manages to be both restrained and cacophonous, speaking to his classical training as well as his years as a dj, producer and sound tech. since we first met clay as a new-to-new york city bunker party regular back in the public assembly days, through releasing his earlier music and having him join us at numerous label showcases around the world, we’ve come to know him as an exceptional producer and dj, an essential part of the bunker family and a regular fixture in our lineups. this new release is an expression of the deep relationship weve all forged through years of raving together of freaking out to an unreleased track on the dance floor only to find out your friend made it and then getting a crew together to remix it and put it out!

bruno “patchworks” hovart is definitely one of the top producers of today’s groove music scene. after playing as a bassist and guitarist for various bands, he started producing in the mid-nineties and has kept on mixing today’s technologies with the raw spirits of house, electronic, disco, funk, soul, reggae & jazz music’s golden years since then. following the trail of success left by his various projects as patchworks, and under many aliases, he’s proved his musical ubiquity and unexpectedly stroke in various genres. for this new ep, he’s back under the edr records’ umbrella, following up to his acclaimed eps called give my love (edr019) and dedications (edr021), and meanwhile pursuing a comeback to his early love for house music. many house music diggers would indeed remember that before favorite recordings was launched in 2006, patchworks and pascal rioux produced many deep-house titles on the rotax disques imprint. besides since the late 90s, patchworks has also collaborated with labels such as q-tape, or still music, delivering many clubbing hits such as “million toes”, “sugar”, or “minautor” to name just a few. on this 4 tracks ep, he again delivers 4 dancefloor killers, ready to convince any listener from old-school “footstomping” aficionados, to detroit house heads. for the occasion he also invited his long time mate eric duperray aka mr day, who brings his soulful vibes to the mix.
