the opening hits of the percussion stay smooth and relaxed, and the instruments come in one-by-one – first the synth, then the strings, then the brass – to create an experience thats both engaging and relaxing. this is the sort of music i would listen to if i cruised the streets of san francisco in the evenings. as >back to the bay< wraps up and pulls us into his remix of >screw up<, we get a dose of subscapes intensity, but its quickly pulled back into matty gs signature low-bass, hip-hop/dubstep fusion beats. >jam like a tek< adds in some vocal hooks to get the crowd chanting – and you are missing out if you dont add this into your mix. deep kick drums, a snappy snare, big distortion on the scratchy bass wobbles, and the vocals all come together perfectly to create a track thatll get people grinding like mad on the dancefloor.

norm talley tackles techno. yes, you heard that right… in spite of 3 tracks on the original transmissions that fell a little closer to what the heads would expect from a very reliable source, it was that first one that everyone begged for more of. we must agree that those 3 minutes were just a little of a tease, so here is the full 9-minute extended cut of “man on the moon” that all of you asked for, and what a trip it is! certainly funky broken-beat techno is a new look for norm, but it’s pretty obvious in all 9 of the minutes here that this is a man from detroit making the music he knows best. there’s a groove and a touch here that speaks of soul and experience… although you may find this one in the crates of some of the new school techno elite, it’s safe to say they couldn’t have made it the way norm talley did. even if you remember part one you may be surprised where he takes it, but we’re even more pleased to say that “earth 2 moon” beats it at its own game. this one made our necks snap and heads turn the very first time.

nico stojans last release on upon you was a collaboration with the cheapers. before that, he had his debut on uy together with pele. now, the former hip- hop producer, took the streets of spain all by himself and brought back an endotherm tech-house breeze to blow-dry our backstock catalogue and in wich we can preserve our summer memories in- for the cold days ahead. not only wants the namegiving a1 of the uy054 to dancingly dig itself into the sand-beach… eaven the b1 ttitle quiet now is wearing bikini-fashion. for those who like to withdrawel in the winter into steaming halls will be gratified by the remix from hektor. the born mexican which found his way through london into berlin is turning the focal point from quit now into the direction main stage and lets the base drop. for the digital delights in life: nicos track dusty fingers is ready to be downloaded- also a consequent techno-remix from meyerdierks.

following the debut lp on ki, we have put together a few of our favorite artists to remix some tracks of their choice. it was important for us, that the artists kept their individual approach to their genre, so that we could get a very diverse release. first up is the japanese producer stereociti, who just released his debut album on mojuba records. he gives the title track >reisegefaehrte< his very own deep touch. second up is our close friend glitterbug, who seems to create a very own genre with his interpretation of >barracuda<. on the flipside stundman goes straight to the dancefloor. jacking beats and pounding basslines are his >reminder<. and as if p.laoss knew what the real deal is, he turned >subsistence< into a fata morgana trip back to the time when dub was really dub. perfect completion of what we expected from this remix ep.

uncanny the label that took everyone by surprise comes with more goodness! the third artist-ep by dresden-based label comes from house- and hip hop-mastermind cuthead and is nothing less than a proper power package. with vibratin things start off as deep as the bottom of the sea. underneath cutheads dense drums there is an intense and meditating synth line which is eventually complimented by an acid figure as if it was an evil twin. brother rolls in with a mighty kick drum, before a catchy sample and not less catchy piano motives prepare for a propitiating end. with transgressions and its bass line for the bigger floors things get down to house business once again. the remaining two tracks then give an impression of what happens, if cuthead takes to the mpc for his liveset. in seram lembah und heartless cuthead combines his drumming with south east asian disco-mantras und bittersweet blues chants to heavy hip-hop-grooves. loving it!

after the highly successful sunshine reworks #1 (still going strong - big thank you!) soulshare is back with two more deep disco gems in this solid series.
first up and we are once again at prelude for a sweet beefed up version of the classic soul boogie shuffler love fever. pitching things up with reconstructed vocals, added layers and killer drums, dean ignites a deep disco flavor to this track! rounding things off with more retrospective hands-in-the-air pianos its another storming anthemic floorfiller - already getting serious support from some of the key players!
flip over and track two is a deep n dubby trip with tamiko jones fave let it flow. dean takes this killer groove and adds echos, effects, drums and vocals to create a deep disco groover that keeps you shuffling till the end! with a joyous percussive overlaying finale this track is perfect for todays deeper floors. another solid release from dean and his sunshine reworks series. getting big support from the likes of ashley beedle, eric duncan, yam who, pbr streetgang, luke una etc...

following their last 12 inch from nightwave, svetlana industries remain in their eastern european heartland with a long awaited ep from 1000names, the bulgarian production duo who made their debut alongside rustie on the now legendary >beatnicks< ep back in 2007. the >machine city< ep follows 2010s album and ep for black acre, as well as mixing for mary anne hobbs on radio 1 and recommendations in pitchfork. the ep marks a development from 1000names, taking giant steps on from their base in the beats scene towards a new sound, taking influence from giorgio moroder and analogue synth disco to imagine a future both optimistic and dystopian. it is like john carpenter meets hip hop and it is as good as that sounds.
