cd edition in 2-panel digipack, 20-page booklet with exclusive pictures and notes from jeanne moreau, franois truffaut and cyrius bassiak (aka. serge reznavi).an emblematic actress and a memorable figure of the french chanson scene, jeanne moreau passed away in 2017. she started singing as an amateur in theatre like the comŽdie franaise, but always wanted Òto sing balladsÓ. the man who wrote her first songs was her friend: the painter cyrus bassiak (pseudonym of serge rezvani) and like for many other artists jacques canetti was the one who brought her to a recording studio to record her first songs in 1963. this album pays homage to jeanne moreau by compiling for the very first time all the songs written by cyrus bassiak, including 4 songs that were nowhere to be found until today.

recently, superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in south africa. he bought a custom made safari hat at his favorite milliner in cologne (ju&#776,rgen eifler) and set off with big eyes and a pair of binoculars. it was wild and wonderful and he saw many exotic (and big!) animals, even a leopard in a tree that told him the secret of the universe. he forgot what the leopard said because his mind was still playing and replaying the sound of what he heard on the first night of his arrival Ð the hypnotic and moving sound of the voices of africa, the voices of the wonderful tanda tula staff choir. there, the choir members work during the day at the camp and at night entertain the guests with their captivating voices and energetic dancing. so impressed was he with their songs and beautiful shangaan language that he decided to record a cd for them to sell in the shop at their camp and now this precious recording is also available through hippie dance / bush recordings on vinyl and cd for you in whatever wherever camp you are. the lp of the tanda tula choir comes with a very pretty poster.

through the sparkle is a collaboration between french ensemble astr•d and american pianist and composer rachel grimes. rachel grimes is best known for her chamber music project rachelÕs, a hugely influential group formed in 1991 in louisville, kentucky, releasing six studio albums between 1995 and 2005. she has also released a string of contemporary classical works in recent years on labels such as temporary residence. astr•d is a collective of four musicians based in nantes, releasing records on rune grammofon and home normal. after years of mail and email back and forth over the ocean, from nantes to kentucky, astr•d invited rachel to come for a residency to make music together and play shows in france. they gathered for a few days, here and there, in 2012 and 2013 to write songs in cyril and vanina s home studio in the countryside.

Ôold skoolÕ is exactly what you d expect, its sample syncopated around a feverish rhythm throughout. both Ôrapid fire and Ôacid tech 2Õ are bangers, hitting you deep in that sweet spot. jana brings it back down with ÕcpuÕ s computer noises and sub bass hits. Ôchill modeÕ gives time for reflection after all that fire, but its no ambient track, theres still that chi-town vibe. we finish with Ôfrenetic snareÕ whose amen breaks will have brits thinking of jungle, but it s a different beast altogether
