the black dog have been gathering their thoughts, passions and anger, reflecting it into their music, sometimes as part of a larger picture or concept, sometimes just focusing on one subject. tranklements is such a great sheffield word, it means a collection of objects, often precious to the owner. everyone has a collection of tranklements somewhere!

tranklements ist der nachfolger zum 2011 erschienenen liber dogma und wird ebenfalls auf dust science recordings erscheinen. hinter the black dog stehen die drei briten ken downie, martin dust und richard dust. der stil des trios bewegt sich im weiten raum der technosphaeren, mal ruhiger, mal mit deutlich mehr biss. die tracks sind sehr individuell und abwechslungsreich. der titel des albums, tranklements, ist ein sheffielder wort, was grob uebersetzt eine sammlung von emotional wertvollen gegenstaenden heißt. mit dem neuen album zeigen the black dog in 16 ausfuehrungen, was ihnen musikalisch am herzen liegt. this is the third of the black dogs liber series of releases that are purely aimed at the dance floor. it follows the previous, well received liber kult & liber temple 12s, these singles all lead to liber dogma, due on soma in october, and further chapters. high rise choir reprise opens with clattering percussion taken straight from recordings at forgemasters before a face-ripping gut-wrenching bassline cuts through with one of the black dogs strongest minimal grooves yet. built to move heads and feet, the hypnotic groove hooks you instantly while the haunting strings bring the emotion in massive dark waves, you cant help but fall into this track. beautifully simple, addictive and massive. dissident bleep is just that. over the years the myth that sheffield is all about bleep and bass has gathered ground but those who live here know its all about the bass. industrial repetition gives way to twisted vocal samples of >over, over<, a sure-fire nod to cabaret voltaire, before the kicks and filters pummel you.

the black dog are a legendary live act whose ability to destroy venues and wreck soundsystems is undeniable. they blur the boundaries between djing and performance while possessing an excellent sense of where to take the crowd. live, they represent purist techno, which is also utterly crowd pleasing. on record, tbd are famous for delivering subtlety, emotion, and intellectual richness, as well as great tunes, but never in their career have they managed to convey the sheer visceral impact of their performances as on liber dogma. this album contrasts with last years extremely well-received ambient outings on music for real airports and the dadavistic orkestra collaboration with members of the psychick warriors of gaia. while none of the bands artistry and care has been lost, there is now a greater focus on a pure, and utterly exhilarating, vision of how techno can transform the dancefloor into a realm of complete pleasure.

system fork was designed around the principle of itamae, where ever detail was described and thought about before any work in the studio was done. this process took two years before a set of rules and principles were fully realised for the creative process in the studio.
