tetine are brazilian artists/musicians bruno verner and eliete mejorado and are stars of sao paulos avant garde music scene - uniting electronic music with brazilian dark sambas, performance art, spoken word, super 8 movies and whatever came into their heads. their musical influences range from bands such as throbbing gristle, peaches, tuxedomoon to kraftwerk, can, but it also incorporates heavily the more experimental side of brazilian musicians such as paulinho da viola, os mutantes, chico buarque or the tropicalists and rio baile funk artists. since 2002 they have lived and worked in london. three years ago they brought baile funk to the uk with their slum dunk radio show and subsequently with slum dunk presents funk carioca album. in 2005 they compiled the sexual life of the savages for soul jazz records - an album of obscure early 80s underground post punk from são paulo. in 2006 tetine played at the opening night of tropicalia - a revolution in brazilian culture - at barbican centre alongside brazilian multi-artist assume vivid astrofocus.

a symbiosis of two perfectionists who would like to surprise with something new and got lost in the deep widenesses of techno. now, zdenko grbavac and morgenklang let it come true and release their first record in common. the two tracks are technoid, impulsive and surprising at the same time. >epos< comes out on top at the middle distinctivly. the tracks baseline is remindful of the early 80s synth-pop and sounds in combination with the remaining parts like an unstoppable train. the track >novum< is a monster of chord and pushes relentlessly. however the athmosphere creates a certain easiness and moves the audience in a dreamy state.

masami akita and lasse marhaug have been working together since the mid 90ies. the first release on marhaugs (now deleted) label jazzassin records in 1995 was the >first rock< split single. in 2001 merzbow and jazzkammer (marhaugs project with john hegre) released a live album. later, akita and marhaug executed several live collaborations, but often with other artists such as hair stylistics and jim o rourke. in 2010 they finally got together to record as duo. recorded at gok sound studios in tokyo the results can now be heard as >mer mar<.
made using a combination of scrap metal screeching, analogue synths, and enough effect pedals to give you overweight with most airline companies, >mer mar< is a tour de force for both of these noise veterans, hinting to some classic 80s merzbow jams such as material action.

with the latest album from dance producer hans-peter lindstrøm, norways latest entry in the space race has been launched out of the wooded outskirts of oslo. six cups of rebel, lindstrøms fourth solo album, is a super-sized cosmic disco rocket that burns up a galaxy of eclectic influences in its wake, from bach to deep purple, from prog rock and arpeggiator disco to acid house, while sounding sleek and utterly contemporary. he may worship at the temple of godlike european djs from the 80s like daniele baldelli and beppe loda, but the relentless, occasionally monumental scale of six cups of rebel has the power to move mountains all by itself.
