we are extremely excited to announce our second double disk compilation retrospect on mood series! in 2020 and 2021, greyscale was full steam ahead on bringing new music to the cherished discography. in fact, in 2020, greyscale released over 20 eps just on the mood series itself! something we are very proud of and we wish to thank all the artists who have been involved up to this point. a hearty thank you from all at greyscale! as 2021 came we wanted to balance that out with a few retrospectives of the journey. and also, to revisit the cd format which we really enjoy doing compilations on. this installment looks back at mood series 21 thru 40 with a track from each ep! we hope this encourages you to check back with each original ep if you may have missed it and also to revisit some of your favorites. we would like to thank our supporters for being there to share the enjoyment and the excitement in what we are doing. your feedback has been tremendous and we want you to know we have many exciting and new projects coming (including some different ideas we are trying for the first time!).

greyscale is set to release its 18th full length cd and this is by one of the busiest and most well respected newer stars in the scene, heavenchord. >o theos einai agapi< is 9 tracks deep of some of the most floaty and serene tracks in our discography. >cloud forest< opens up with a wonderful example of whats to lie ahead. its wide open layered chords arc and shimmer over a soothing spatial background. >deep dimensions< is prone to draw out emotions of long lost memories as you drift along to its echoed-out airy atmosphere. this album isnt fully beatless. there are a few remnants like on >summer grey session< which introduces a broken tech groove while >summer vibes< has you riding on warm waves of calming and peaceful dub goodness. >rare 3< strong chord work shows heavenchords adept craftmanship in this genre that is well beyond his years creating music. the depth created in this album might be its lasting impression. whats not there is as important as what is there. a true shining moment in production!

for the past two years, nils frahm has been building a brand new studio in berlin to make his 7th studio album titled all melody, which will be released on january 26th, 2018 via erased tapes, before nils embarks on his first world tour since 2015.
since the day nils first encountered the impressive studio of a family friend, he had envisioned to create one of his own at such a large scale. fast forward to the present day and nils is now the proud host of saal 3, part of the historical 1950s east german funkhaus building beside the river spree. it is here where he has spent most of his time deconstructing and reconstructing the entire space from the cabling and electricity to the woodwork, before moving on to the finer elements, building a pipe organ and creating a mixing desk all from scratch with the help of his friends. this is somewhere music can be nurtured and not neglected, and where he can somewhat fulfil his pursuit of presenting music to the world as close to his imagination as possible.

huron is back with his long awaited album Òinside informationÓ. the berlin based musician has come up with 13 original tracks for his album which sounds somewhere between the idm/glitch/electronica.
Òinside informationÓ is an accomplished coming of age for huron, a conceptual lp that brings together the elements that worked so well on his previous album Òthe other side of realityÓ on raumklang records and his ÒfissureÓ ep on mindtrick records and mixed it into a robust, coherent statement.

psychedelic new jazz trio, pioneers in the tel aviv music scene, mainly by introducing through this band a brand new sound, blending jazz with rock and electronics. guitarist/pedal master yonatan albalak, drummer/producer aviv cohen (aka sol monk) and bass player gilad abro, are all well-known jazz-oriented musicians, constantly performing around the world with various projects. the three create under the name of layerz since 2010. things on top of each other is their second album, written and recorded during a 3 days session in the studio. it feels like a natural progression from memory tower their first album recorded in 2012. this album has a distinctly more beats-oriented approach. guests in the album are pianist nitai hershkovits, vocalist kerendun and vocalist marina maximilian blumin.
