after the highly anticipated release of his third studio album decay, efdemin presents the first part of a remix series featuring his favourite producers. bristols underground hero asusu inflates the reduced album opener some kind of up and down yes with deepest bass and beautiful scapes to the max in a true photek-style. last years control by staffan linzatti was one of the favourite constants to be played in every efdemin or lawrence set. luckily his version of solaris is another epic hymn here with futuristic enhancements of the third kind.the most extraordinary piece on decay versions part 1 is the borderland states rework of parallaxis. efdemins studio-mate john gürtler recorded that beauty with adding acoustic instruments only and sounds like a meeting of moondog with wim mertens.

das stimmt, es ist vielleicht sogar das erste mal fuer monkeytown. es zeigt wie sehr wir an alex banks und seine musikalische vision glauben. die tiefe emotionalitaet seiner energetischen musik hallt eben lange nach. die tracks auf illuminate sind so komplex geschichtet und dennoch so zugänglich, dass man bei jedem neuen hoeren etwas neues zu entdecken vermeint. alex ist virtuoser multiinstrumentalist und man hoert den ineinander verschachtelten beat strukturen an, dass sich hier jemand intensiv mit kompositionslehre auseinandergesetzt hat

haseland schlägt mit einem limitierten kassetten-release neue wege ein. bereits mit den letzten beiden veroeffentlichungen von coss und anders wasserfall hat sich haseland magnetschallplatten neu positioniert und sich einen schritt von funktionalitaet der tanzflaeche entfernt. intensitaet und atmosphaerische tiefe haben auf lepus (lat. für hase) absolute prioritaet und stehen vor funktionalitaet und tanzbarkeit.

the goal with supernova was to look back to the disco era but with a synth heavy and altogether more cosmic twist. alex is a big fun of modern russian classical music composing style. also he was inspired by early english progressive scene (yes, elo etc). this is why u-kas melodic lines are long and not so straight sometimes. and oleg is musically far from academic school and prefers zappa, early german electronic and psychedelic krautrock etc.
