Fantastic four-track EP sampler on new Jamie Jones and Lee Foss imprint – Hot Waves! Hot Waves is a new label set up by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. This 12inch Vinyl sampler features some hot licks from burgeoning talents Richy Ahmed, Jost T and Alexis Raphael as well as a great tune from Crosstown hero Maceo Plex. The A side features a Hot Natured stalwart Richy Ahmed, he jacks the groove and cuts up the hip-house into a monster of a slammin groove. Then London based producer Alexis Raphael hits the Cosmic Boogie bus and takes the Spaceship into outer space. On the flip and Josh Ts >Green Surprises< is a heavenly slice of boogitastic R&B led basement funk .. amazing. Finally Maceo Plex (aka Maetrik) delivers a supersonic deep house monster reminiscent of Larry Heard.. what a fantastic EP and what a great precursor to a great compilation
