Quantum Collage is the latest pseudonym of Olaf Gutbrod aka Ohm-G. Having built a reputation around his long list of chill out tracks produced while resident in Ibiza, this release on Martin Gretschmann (Acid Pauli, Console) and Nico Stojan’s Ouïe sees him dive into some more electronic textures. ‘Lucid Dreaming’ is a chugging, groovy trip built around a shuffling beat and dubbed out percussion and horns, tapping into Gutbrod’s talent for amplifying the vibe. ‘Afrika im Weltraum’ adds a little more tempo - a swirling, driving drum loop provides the basis for layers of extra percussion and spacey synths and various chants and radio broadcasts. Her Beauty certainly draws on some the mastery Gutbrod showed in his releases on Café del Mar and Hotel Costes CDs - a chilled out groover with the sunset / sunrise seemingly in mind.
