Longtime collaborators Ortin Cam and Charles Bells bring the pain in this fifth episode in Roots' saga of uncompromising techno music. Two tracks working in very different ways toward the same goal: total dancefloor destruction. Deep stomper 'Machine Code' is built around the mother of all basslines, while 'Mop Up' sounds like a formation of bombers raiding the dancefloor; peaktime stuff. Bas Mooy takes 'Machine Code' in even deeper, funkier territory, whereas the Detroit Grand Pubah's take on 'Mop Up' has turned it into a druggy trip, complete with deranged percussion and weird voices.
