After the release of the widely acclaimed debut album Depersonalisation, principal songwriter and protagonist Danny Venzin moved from the humid confines of Brisbane, Australia to subzero Moscow, Russia while transforming the band into a solo project. Nite Fields' sophomore album, A Voyeur Makes No Mark, is a bold reflection of this change and sees its release as a limited edition of 200 vinyl copies on Venzin’s own label Lost Race.

Utilising a sonic palette drawing from Venzin's new surrounds, a purposeful decision was made to incorporate local Russian recording equipment resulting in a stark yet richly atmospheric sound. Lead single Not Your Time sets the scene of a living and breathing pulse within a distant, unknown city. Nightstalking, double-tracked drum rhythms and a swirling, modulated drone re-treaded from a Soviet Maestro synthesizer form the backdrop for Venzin's deadpan yet sharply elegant vocal delivery. Invitation, low-slung and brooding with misanthropy recalls the growing maturity in Venzin's songwriting, executed to perfection on a stage set elsewhere by motorik drums (Take My Side), film-noir ambience (Descent), swooning, dubby shoegaze (Fiction Eyes) and dancefloor-ready basslines (Chase It).

If Depersonalisation was an album of loss and self-destruction, A Voyeur Makes No Mark embodies a self-possessed, confrontational figure though no less anguished with self. Themes of rebirth and redefinition carry throughout the album immortalised in Venzin's assertive web of sound. A Voyeur Makes No Mark also exhibits Venzin's collaborative impulse enlisting friends and members of Multiple Man (Australia), Nerve (Australia), Autumns (Northern Ireland) and Love Cult (Russia), culminating in four years of recording sessions in Venzin's Moscow bedroom studio and in Brisbane, Australia.
